About

jlThe Editing Edge is owned and operated by Jeni Lewington who is passionate about assisting you (as an author of a book, website, report, thesis, newsletter or PowerPoint) to produce your best work possible.

All my work has involved working with words in some way. After completing my honours thesis in anthropology, I worked as an anthropologist with the Goldfields Land Council (now the Goldfields Land and Sea Council) in Kalgoorlie where I prepared written reports based upon fieldwork with Traditional Owners to document their relationships to country.

I then studied to become a librarian and worked as a government research librarian in Brisbane, Queensland, for 12 years. My work involved preparing user guides and editing our website as well as undertaking complex technical database searches and training.

Since completing my Graduate Certificate in Editing and Publishing at USQ, I have enjoyed editing a variety of publications, including a non-fiction book, an ebook, an historical timeline for a women’s organisation, a PowerPoint presentation, promotional material, as well as resumes.

You may notice I don’t offer a phone number on my website, only email. This is because a few years ago I lost the ability to speak through an, as yet, undiagnosed mystery condition. However, with the assistance of modern technology, I use an app on my phone to type my messages and heavily use the National Relay Service.

I look forward to assisting you with your editing and proofreading requirements.
